Damn right it does.
A lot of smaller sales are built on little to no margin, and shipping hurts both the seller and the buyer. It makes very little sense to buy a AUD$5-10 card, and have to pay AUD~$10 in shipping; similarly, it hurts our ability to sustain positive cash flow when we incur some (or all) of that cost. But there are ways to alleviate shipping pains.
BULK ORDERING.
The easiest way to alleviate shipping pain is to buy multiple items at once. Five cards, for example, can generally be shipped for the same cost as one card.
It makes financial and logistical sense to you as the buyer, and to us as the seller, to send you multiple items in a single order. We understand however that due to financial, supply, or other constraints that this isn't always feasible. If that's the case, there are other ways to save:
UNTRACKED SHIPPING FOR LOWER VALUE ORDERS.
In the event that you are buying a single card at a lower price point, you can reduce the cost of shipping by requesting the card be sent as a Domestic Letter - Untracked. There are restrictions on packaging thickness for this postage, so a maximum of two standard 35pt cards with top loaders is the limit that we can provide. As of writing, this is a AUD $5 service for domestic Australian orders.
Please keep in mind that there is added risk involved with untracked services. While Australia Post is generally very reliable, and we've had no issues to date, we strongly advise against using the Domestic Letter - Untracked service for higher value orders.
FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING FOR ORDERS OVER $100.
This is one area where we help one another. Larger orders means we've probably got a little more room to move, and incurring some shipping cost won't hurt our margins as much. But we aren't just a business either - we started as collectors in the 90's and remain collectors today - we understand how critical it is as a collector to have a reliable and affordable outlet that understands the hobby as a buyer.
Whether a single item or a multiple item purchase, if your order is over AUD $100 in value, we'll eat the cost of shipping.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS.
short of reinventing air travel, there's no real way to reduce the large cost involved in international shipping. the same principles that apply to saving on domestic shipping also apply to international shipping; we also offer free international standard shipping on all orders over aud$300 and apply the same handling times and return & refund policy.
IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS RELATING TO CUSTOMS PLEASE REACH OUT TO US PRIOR TO CONFIRMING YOUR ORDER SO THAT WE CAN ASSIST IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. IT IS THE DUTY OF THE BUYER TO UNDERSTAND ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMS FEES RELATED TO THE COUNTRY OF DESTINATION.
HANDLING TIMES.
we know what it's like when you've got an itch to scratch when it comes to collecting, so we endeavour to honour a one-day handling time. all orders placed by 12pm australian central standard time monday-friday will be shipped the following day, and when possible, on the same day. any expected delays to the process will be promptly communicated to the buyer and the item shipped as soon as possible.

outside of a postie having a bad day, your cards should be safe from damage.
all cards are shipped in a penny sleeve and toploader sandwiched between cardboard. this is then placed in a custom 11cm x 13cm padded mailer, which is placed inside of a 12.5cm x 16cm australia post padded mailer. more expensive cards will be shipped with a onetouch. boxes, packs, and other items will all be appropriately packaged to the same standard as our singles.
in short, we'll do what we can from our end to get your items to you unscathed.

in a perfect world...
ideally, return & refund policies wouldn't exist, because everything would be perfect. but in reality, mistakes and accidents are an inherent part of life.
in the event that you recieve an incorrect item, or the item is not as described, we offer a 7-day full return and refund policy initiated from the date of delivery. we do our utmost to ensure that this situation doesn't occur - and it hasn't yet - but we offer you the assurance that you'll recieve what you paid for and that if you don't, you'll get your money back.
if your item arrives damaged (again, it hasn't happened yet) we will initiate consultation with the shipping company (usually australia post) to amend the situation. we cannot put a timeframe on this scenario as the responsibility lay with the courier but we will do our best to make it right by you as fast as possible.
INSURANCE LEADS TO ASSURANCE.
ALL TRACKED SHIPMENTS COME WITH AUD $100 OF STANDARD COVER PER AUSTRLIA POST POLICIES. extra cover is calculated at 2.5% for values over $100, at incremements of $100.
as an example, if you wanted extra cover for a $500 purchase, the first $100 of cover would be free. you would then be charged $2.50 for every $100 of cover thereafter, totaling $10. for more information on australia post's insurance pricing, please visit this link.

we're shaking.
we're looking to begin our live breaking service prior to the 2024-25 nba season - if we're lucky. securing enough product at appropriate prices is difficult due to the significant roadblocks in place for retailers without a brick & mortar storefront (something we have future plans for!).
